Clinican Teresa Pilegaard specializes in human groundedness and observational horsemanship as the foundation builder for human-equine relationships. Teresa thrives on rehabbing horses into confident partners including her OTTB mare, Brooke, who won the competitive trail RRP broodmare division in 2023.
SCHEDULE
*Please note: Level 1+2 participants bring their own horses.
Level 1 participants will use our horses.
Level 1: Unmounted
10 AM: Human warm-up for grounded handling – deepen your presence for your horse!
10:30 AM: Foundations in handling – unmounted “tricks” to take away the fright! Handle Dorato horses in everyday settings with guidance on how to improve the partnership and confidence.
11:30 AM: Discussion, Q and A on equine learning theory, and lunch. (Please bring your own lunch)
12:30 PM: Application in the arena – demonstration and application on utilizing the foundations in “spooky” situations. Teresa will demonstrate how to apply foundational techniques in a new setting. Clinic participants will apply the grounding and foundations as they guide their horses through a “ghoulish” course.
Level 2: Mounted
2:00 PM – 3:30 PM: Ground yourself and your horse using the foundational principles under saddle.
